Has anyone researched this? In my area (Toronto) hundreds of cars are stolen already since beginning of 2023.
I see a lot of RR Sports being stolen with rear tail gate harness cut. In fact somebody I know had it stolen from airport parking.
Also another customer of mine had attempt on her Urus, basically they tried to forcefully remove her at the parking lot.
I’m not familiar with the rear harness cut but from the risks of electronic signal intercepts, to hacking through the vehicles diagnostic port, it sounds like mechanical devices like the 90’s “Club”/steering wheel lock might be the way to go.
This one I'm not sure, mostly we have IGLA / Ghost type or immobilizers, I'm thinking of doing one but extra FOB is nuisance as well as punching key combination on steering wheel.
Mostly the cars are stolen are Lexuses thru relay attack, CRVs and F150s and older ranger rovers, now newer ones too via rear harness cut. Also some Hyundais too believe or not.
Disabling keyless entry takes care of relay but there are other ways that I'm not sure if applicable to defender.
