Thank you for the replies! Both are certified pre owned, so there is some comfort there. I won’t be hauling anything other than the family haha. I primarily wanted a daily driver (don’t commute much) and a nice vehicle to take to Vermont. This feels like the right fit for sure. I’m not particular to any engine, I’m more concerned about reliability and if I do take it for some very minor off road, it’ll handle it.
my only complication now is finding one that has the tiny 3rd row. I don’t need for long trips but getting pressure as a “just in case” we need to haul people and our other vehicle isn’t available.
and great community here, the advice has been great!
ls the 4 cylinder engine not an MHEV (someone above says it has no 48v battery)
lf that's the case it would swing my decision towards the 4 cylinder
Less to go wrong, as mentioned. Hate to think of the cost of replacing the MHEV battery a few years down the line.
Correct. No MHEV/supercharger thingy.
Simple (ha!) 4 cyl turbo making 300 hp. That's a lot funnier if you're an old coot like me that remembers when you needed to mod your V8 to hit 300hp.😉
The post 2018 Jeep Wrangler seems to do just fine with the 2.0 4 cylinder turbo.
I am still on the Jeep forum (it was either a Wrangler LWB or the Defender) and l've not heard anyone complain about the engine being underpowered or giving trouble.
