Default Selectable ARB rear locking differential progress

A few more progress shots on the selectable rear locker project. 3d printed case half turned out pretty good! A few more tweeks in the model and then we move on to a working billet prototype! 😀

Not quite at that phase yet. The good news is there will be no drilling required. Basically just remove your differential swap out the carrier and install our new case half. The nice thing is that the only shimming that will be required will be for Carrier preload. The simple method will probably be to have a diff shop install. We will be offering full installation at our shop. We will also be offering in a kit form for other shops to install and even diy

ARB's are air lockers, so a pump/airline is required. Anyone know what percent lock up does the stock differential five? Is its performance similar to a Trutrac?

I am one of your biggest supporters on this project. You may single handedly prevent me from having to install an e-Diff! Let me know if you start a Kickstarter campaign... I may have to be an early supporter!!

Stock differential is a conventional open diff. Not like a true trac or torsen style diff. Optional Factory electronic diff has clutch packs and a ball ramp style flat motor. It is a variable locking torque on demand style differential. The traction control system ultimately controls how much locking there is. Based on terrain mode selected and feedback from the vehicle. Both factory style differentials have a single pin in the differential.. ARB has a cross pin which is a lot stronger.
