Hi All,

I have not posted since my 2003 Disco build. Since then, I have 1995 AA Yellow D90, 2012 Range Rover and the latest, the 2020 Defender.

once I ordered the new Def, I was keen to build. No, I’m not installing every possible LR accessory nor did I purchase the accessory packs.

ive started with the usual quick adds, 275 65 R20 KO2s, 1.5” Johnson rod lift, LR Rear tow hooks. The LR bull bar and winch was by far my most ambitious addition so far, all told about 16 hrs start to finish. I purchased the WARN ZEON 10-S from Amazon not LR. Yes, I could have had LR install, but where’s the fun in that.

Thanks Pete. It’s an LR bumper from Australia, basically, a roo bar they sell in the local market I had shipped to the US from Sydney.

Could you please share with us the detailed address and contact information to purchase the bull bar and supporting parts ?

Which front skid plate did you install (I am assuming you added one ?)

Nope - it’s an HSE P400. I liked the X but chose the HSE due to a number of reasons:

- the gloss Black cladding is nice but will scratch/pit terribly on any gravelly road surface
- wanted full leather seats vs partial cloth/leather
- easily had the hood black wrapped and added the tow hooks

Just being honest, I think it was LR gouging price with surface refinements for visual affects vs actually adding any real capabilities/value (towing, convenience pack, leather seats, etc. all stil options).

Was able to add important options like the rear diff lock, towing package, leather, 3rd row, and arrive at the cost of a base X, but with more capabilities and saved $7k over a similarly spec’d X. That’s the great thing about the new Def as you can tailor it to your desires/needs and if you can’t tell the difference, I’m glad I saved the $$.

The bull bar (actually a roo bar) came from LR Melbourne Australia and was shipped by #newdefendermods (Ben) who arranged shipment. Not cheap but possible.

I coupled the bar with a WARN Zeon platinum 10s (courtesy of Amazon). It is very tight fit and any other winch you need to measure carefully to ensure it is same or smaller. Also, absolutely must have a wireless remote unless you are able to relocate the control unit. Under the hood, I have a power isolator switch to turnoff positive connection to the battery. Very easy On/Off switch.

I used the LR skid plate as fits neat and tidy and is strong enough for my needs. If I were scrapping it every other weekend, I would go with something more substantial.
