Trying to turn off or reset the service light on my wife's 110 V8 with the GAP tool and can't find the correct menu to just turn it off. Thought there would be a quick way or selection to do that (like with the thinkdiag tool for P cars etc) but can't figure it out.

Any help? TIA.

 

No need to use the GAP tool. Resetting the service light is easy and literally takes one minute. Follow these steps:

1. With the car off, open the door.
2. Pop the hood.
3. Press the start button to turn on the accessories.
4. With the accessories on, fully depress the brake pedal with your left foot and hold for a few seconds.
5. Then fully depress the throttle with your right foot while still fully depressing the brake.
6. You will then see the message "service resetting" on the instrument cluster.
7. Keep depressing both pedals until the message "service counter reset" appears on the instrument cluster, then you can release the pedals.
8. Your service light has been reset.
