@GavinC - We were separated at birth!! I'm not the only one with a crazy expensive vehicle that I punish frequently, patch up with whatever DIY schemes I can cook up and periodically flame out in spectacular fashion!!! I'm just in awe & admiration. I can't tell you how many things I "learned" while working on my Land Rovers....As my dad would frequently tell me: a good education costs, and you just paid tuition....

I was dead chuffed with my repair. Almost sorry I'd bothered to shell out for the replacement headlight on ebay. Then this fiasco. As mistakes go, it ain't the costliest, but my $3 repair spiked to about$100. Still not bad for a spare headlight, but money that could have been better spent. All those beers and tacos, gone forever.
