Sorry to hear that so many of you have had this experience. I just purchased my 23 Defender last Thursday and it came with two complete keys and two fobs (one strap and one dongle) in a cardboard presentation box. Hopefully this is an indication that the pipeline is beginning to open up.
If you lose the one fob you were given you are in big trouble. The car can only be opened with silver key and it will set the alarm off. You can not start car with it. Use the app to open car. You will have to contact dealer and be flat bed towed, which is not always easy. Car will then sit with them until they can find another fob, which could be days or weeks. This is exactly what happened to me. I picked up a new Velar in Sept and was given one fob and told I would be contacted when they had the second one. Never heard from them again. When I lost the fob I had been using for four months, I realized I never received a second one. This set off a horrible chain of events. Finally getting my car back after four days with one fob and instructions not to lose it because they have no idea when they will get more. Other than offering to pay for rental car, they are doing nothing to compensate customers for the massive inconvenience.
sorry to hear about that. very disappointed and frustrated with Land Rover's handling of this 2nd key, as well as the missing options that many of us dealt with. I am done with the brand.
I realize this does not address LR not including the second key, but there are aftermarket remotes that are pretty cheap. I found one for $109 (new) that says it is compatible with the part number and FCCID on my 2023.5 key fob. It does not come with the LR logo, but it would be nice to have a 2nd key based upon the hassle of losing the one and only key. Does anyone know anything about programming a key? The dealer will probably just laugh but I wonder what equipment is necessary to program. [Edit, I should have read the post above about programming the ebay key].
Same here. In November 2022 we took delivery of a 2023 Discovery with 1 key FOB. Dealer told me that a service bulletin was issued and we would be called when the 2nd one as available.

I received a letter today from Jaguar Land Rover dated January 20, 2023 informing me about their no-charge Customer Satisfaction Program N724. It instructed me to call my dealer, which i dutifully did, and they had no clue about "N724". The Service person told me a "large" shipment of fobs had just arrived, but mine wasn't one of them, to sit tight, and they would call me when another lot came in. Hmm.....
FWIW I got this same letter today even though we had our dealer get our second key sorted a couple weeks ago. Posting the back in case anyone wants the additional contact info an hasn't received the letter yet.
Got our letter four days ago also (Saturday Feb 4th). Went Monday 6 to our JLR dealer to confirm. As expected - they were a bit surprised. JLR corporate issued the letters before parts were in dealers hands (my speculation). They started a file folder and said they'd give us a ring when the key fob was actually in hand. I'm not expecting before the end of Feb 2023 here in Colorado but would happily be proven wrong
