Default Solar attenuating windscreen

Hey

Has anyone ordered or installed this windshield and can share their experiences? I would still be interested to know if this is really sound-absorbing?

Hi, it absorbs heat. The tint of the glass is slightly purple when viewed from the outside.
Nothing obstructs the view from the inside. It's the same as ordinary heated glass with wires.
For me, a good choice that's worth the money. It gets hot in the summer.

Okay for the Summer is it nice.

Do you think it is quieter in the vehicle in terms of wind and rain noise on the highway?

shepl - I don't think so. The difference in noise is not noticeable. I have isothermal glass on my car. On the demonstration cars I drove there were ordinary glass and I didn't notice the difference.

My experience is that these windshields on LR products do not do anything additional for sound minimization. The standard windshield is already "acoustic", and the solar attenuating windshield is similarly acoustic.

I have it, and if it makes a difference in sound it is undetectable to the ear. I will say, that my 110 X is fantastically quiet though. Just not sure the windshield is helping.

Does anyone know if this also provides increased UV protection? (that's what I told my wife... I wonder if it's actually true )

They say it does and I believe it does, so with the sound reduction as well. I drove quite a few demos and none of them had the attenuating windscreen and were comparatively noisier than my P400. I was actually surprised when I took delivery as to how quite the cabin was. It does get hot here down under during summer and I've noticed the cabin stays relatively cooler to other cars. Like I don't feel like I'm entering an oven.

Also, it's just $300 USD? so a chump change given the grand scheme of things, this is something that I am not sure you can option after you take delivery and they use your VIN to get any replacements so may be a tad bit difficult one to option one if ever you crack yours

Probably a silly question but assuming it can be combined with the heated windshield?
