Solar attenuating windscreen
#11
If you look at the side windows it is a shade lighter than the windshield.
Not saying it isn't worth it, just saying it isn't some mind blowing technology lol.

I agree. I know some people aren’t bothered by it, but at night the heated windshield causes lights to be blurry. It happened to be included in the car I bought off the lot, but if I were ordering custom I would not include.

Quick recap of my understanding of this:
-- I bought a 110 X with solar attenuating windshield. It does not have the purple windshield I expected. Questioned it. Turns out -- if you have HUD (heads up display), the solar windshield is still solar but it does not look purplish nor does it require the cutouts for toll/radar detectors on either side of the mirror, they've ditched that. And I can confirm my radar detector works great on this car.
-- At least as of 8 mos ago, the NON-HUD windshield was still purple and had the rather dated cutouts for radar/toll passes on either side of the mirror, but I imagine that will change.
-- Anecdotally, when I have the 110 X parked outside in the sun in the driveway, when I put my hand between glass and dashboard, I can still feel some heat thru the glass. I also have a D2 that I bought from Las Vegas with an obviously non-solar attenuating (but heated) windshield but has a high quality clear ceramic UV tint on the windshield, and on that D2, literally no heat comes thru the glass when parked in the exact same spot at same time of day.
-- So I'd say the JLR solar attenuating windshield is probably somewhat effective but not as good as the aftermarket tint if the sole purpose is reducing UV (which I can't measure) and heat (which is easy to "self test anecdotally")
