Sold my awesome D90 for an entirely different direction....
I had my 2023.5 Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE with 13K miles on Autotrader for two months. Started at $64K, then dropped to $60K, nothing but scammers messaging me. CarMax offered $49K!!! Carvana offered $51K. Porsche dealer gave me $55K plus I benefited on the sales tax by trading it in. My window sticker 13 months ago when I bought the Defender was $82K.....BRUTAL
I sold my 2018 Carrera two years later to a Porsche dealer for $7k more than I paid for it and that had nothing to do with covid and chip/inventory shortages. 911's are still holding strong. G-Wagons depreciate very very little also.
If I were you or if I decide to buy another Defender to share the stable with my 911, I will positively locate a low mileage one owner used one. I will never buy another vehicle with high depreciation.
Everyone makes their own choices, and is free to change their mind. I have, and love my Defender 110, and the same goes for my Boxster, manual transmission. But they are night and day as far as substance and utility. I would have a hard time parting with either one, as they both fill a niche. I’m just trying wrap my head around such an extreme change of direction. I bought the Defender for its hauling capacity, ruggedness, and ability to go places most vehicles can’t. And the Boxster can barely fit a carryon bag to go away for a weekend, but it’s superb handling and off the line acceleration is no match for the Defender. Quite a jump, but enjoy the 911. I have to admit I’m jealous, would love to get behind the wheel of that adult toy.

Agreed, you're 100% right. I will most likely be posting here again soon showing the used Defender that I picked up...this time it will be a 110, the 90 had virtually useless rear storage. The 911 is iconic, such an amazing drivers car, SO dialed in. Of course, the Defender is iconic as well and dialed in to exactly what it was designed to do. Enjoy!!!
Golf R is a FANTASTIC car!! So....you'll all hate me, but I went PDK. I have had four 911's in my life, all manuals and loved them but I drive in urban crappy traffic and I've grown old with constantly shifting. If I lived in a rural area I NO DOUBT would have optioned the 7 speed manual.
Luckily with Porsche, there is no wrong option. Their manuals are great - short throws, slick shifter and a perfect clutch, and the PDK is arguably the best automatic transmission on the market. I have a 2023 Macan S in addition to my Defender and I'm looking into getting a Boxster before production ends next October. Enjoy the 911!
ICE Boxster/Cayman is ending production in October of next year to be replaced with the EV version. Yet last week Porsche confirmed that the current 3rd gen Cayenne is going to remain in production into the 2030s and will be sold alongside the 4th gen Cayenne, which will be an EV. Porsche needs to do this with the 982 platform.
Thank you. Your Defender is awesome too, all blacked out. VERY James Bond. And the S2000 is a classic
I had a 2018 Golf R and loved that car.
