Default TCU location for SOS limited functionality warning

Apparently this caused by a dead battery on the TCU.

Anyone know where that’s located in a 110?

This is a simple fix but one you will need to see the dealer to remedy…. Your TCU needs a new battery. Covered under warranty.

Mine was replaced by the dealer before I took delivery on my CPO Defender earlier this year. Part# LR132077 Battery that was on my invoice. I believe it's located in the right rear in the cargo in the electrical compartment.

Easy job if you are willing to pull some interior panels. The battery is located behind the driver side rear door. Attached are a couple pics I took when I replaced mine. The battery door had a single screw. I can't remember if it was a normal torx or security torx, but it was small.

Did you have to put it into service mode first before swapping it out?

Nope. I left the main battery connected while I pulled and re-installed the SOS battery. No warnings and the SOS notification went away immediately.

Default Video Walkthrough to change battery

Decided to film the process - as much as I could - to also help others out there.

that Land Rover part was spot on.

SOS System Limited Functionality Warning Message for New Land Rover Defender MY24 - How to fix

To change yourself you will need the following part:

LR 132077 (battery - was $80 in Los Angeles)

Torx 10 (to open battery compartment)

Whatever else makes you feel comfortable when opening interior body panels

Note: the lower body panel has the following clips (top to bottom)

White Pop Clip

Yellow Clip (I broke this)

White Pop Clip

Metal Pop Clip

Default Be careful!!

Attempted this repair, unfortunately the connector for the batter came off the circuit board instead of the battery unplugging from the connector…new circuit board at dealer and install $2k. Bummer.
