What are the exact dimensions of the space behind the D90 seats? I thought I saw a diagram somewhere but cannot find it. I think I read 18 inches front to back and 15 inches somewhere else.

 

Here you go. There is a bit of a trick that got me when I looked for the scant reference to dimensions of the rear area. The width is significantly smaller on the sill than it is 4" up the sill due to the curved section that meets the sill. This limits what dimension will actually fit back there, unless you kind of worry it in. The other item is a lack of places to put smallish useful items you may want in the car. The glovebox is very aptly named, as gloves and the manual, perhaps a map or two is all that will fit. So I had these hooks, god knows for what they went to, that hook to the headrest rods. I had a spare Mountainsmith lumbar pack that fits nearly perfectly. It was essentially free as I already had it and it still can be used as a pack should I suddenly need one and forgot my regular one.

 

Would be real nice to have a storage box that fit the rear of my 90.
Has anyone attempted to fit a ROAM case in the rear of their 90? ROAM 95L rugged case looks like it MIGHT fit...
