Default Squeak from back seats

Anyone noticing a high pitch squeak coming from the back seat head rest area? It's driving me crazy...!

Nice to see LR still has this issue...it was a common LR4 issue. Try folding down the rear seat then put it back up in the upright position and be sure it firmly locks in place. My wife's LR4 rear seat would squeak if not firmly locked after folding.

On my LR4 the squeak was coming from two rear seat backs rubbing where they split. To test this I stuffed a rag between the seat backs and all was quiet. The permanent fix was adding a piece of black felt between the seat backs. (You can buy felt sheets from Michaels stores)

no this is coming from
where the head rest inserts. If I hit or move the seat I can hear the noise right where the metal inserts are

Wrap the metal inserts in a thin cloth or coat them with WD-40 or silicone product.

I was going to say silicon spray or a bit of graphite. WD40 is so runny, I can only imagine it would be messy.

WD-40 odor lingers too. Bike chain lube would be my pick. I have some made by Boeshield I bought from REI.
