I'm just in amazement that you found this Easter egg. I'd love to find the "Hack" list of other combinations.

Just buy the GAP diagnostic tool and then you can turn the seat belt warning off, as well as other things like stop/start memory.

No need for "hacks"

Agreed, @lighting . One is in my future. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but likely will. Only question is when and which one.

You have to really be annoyed to spend $500 bucks to clear the seatbelt chime...

l wouldn't spend $500 just for that
either. The diagnostic tool is useful for much more.

There is only one option unless you are a repair garage. The cheapest one is locked to one vehicle.

Sorry for the ignorance, but where would I get this GAP tool? I googled, but there seem to be so many different varieties....

After nearly 30 years of pulling bodies out of wrecks, and seeing the difference between those belted versus those who can’t stand the government telling what they should do, I can say from experience, I love my seat belts. They are much less constricting than a wheelchair or crushed skull. But, we all make our own decisions. Those making informed decisions tend to live longer lives, though.

Just as general info, tho: there are only 2 IIDTools - a individual user unit, the IIDTool BT, that has its advanced functions such as suspension height modification or CCF VIN locked to one vehicle and a Pro unit for... yes, professional use which has no VIN lock. They are exactly the same and offer the same functionality except that the Pro units have more memory so that there is enough for the back-ups the IIDTool does for safety ('restore' functions).

And what goes under all the time: the 'normal' diagnostic functions which basically includes all diagnostic functions is not VIN locked for all vehicles we cover.
