Default Sunroof wind deflector clip broke

Hello! Today I opened the sunroof and when I tried to close it it kept bouncing back. I looked to see and the clip that holds the wind shade broke on the left side. Anybody had this happen to theirs?

Strongly encourage fixing on your own - I should have done that. While dealership had Defender awaiting arrival of the part to fix under warranty, a freak hailstorm hit and caused $8K in hail damage.

Moral to the story: if able to do it, do it yourself!

What a coincidence. I used my sunroof yesterday for the first time in a year and it would not close. had a look and the clip is broken as you say. Warranty time.

Thank you all for the responses. It definitely looks very easy to fix but kind of annoyed about the fragility.

I have order the part from Amazon but will
not get here until the 28th. Fortunately, the weather looks favorable here in Central Florida for the next week and it’s garaged.

I will be calling a LR specialized body shop tomorrow see if they can get the clip sooner.

I will post here when fixed and let you all know if I ran into any issues.

Can you please share which clip you purchased?

This is the part number LR137034. Amazon has them for between $30-$100 but they don’t not have any that get to me in less than a week. The dealer has them in stock and are $170.

AliExpress also has them but have not purchased from that site before.

Hi All - this exact thing happened to me in my 2020 defender, and I ordered the part on Amazon. Thank you! The only issue I have is that I have trouble making the clip stay in place. I think you just slide it in, but it does not then "click" in to stay put. In other words, it can be easily loosened since there's no way to screw the bracket in place and instead you need it to click in to secure. Did anyone else have this problem?

I am pretty sure there is a left and right side specific clip so make sure you have the right one. Also, if I remember correctly the tension from the wind screen kind of helps keep it place.
