Looks nice. What is the factory load rating for the door? I have a Mud Stuff UK fold down table attached to the inside of my door, but would love a good way to carry my Max Trax on the outside. Would adding one of your Tailgate Racks put me over?

Thanks,

Myron

Current preorder price is at $898 which includes shipping. Our goal was to price it lower but our initial estimates have changed. The rack is made with 5052 aluminum , 6061 aluminum and mild steel along with custom made 6061 spacers which is great to keep the rack light weight and strong but unfortunately was affected by the recent hike in prices for raw materials and labor.

This is a great question, same question we had since we started prototyping this rack over 2 years ago. Although there has been misinformation that has spread over the load rating on the tailgate rack, the fact is there is no actual written load rating provided by Land Rover. Even a call to Land Rover headquarters couldn't confirm the load rating. What we do know is that the misinformation that has spread is mostly rooted from the older Defenders and their weak hinges. The only official statement we got was "we wont have to worry about our tailgate doors sagging like the old Defenders." We've been testing the limit seeing where we would start seeing issues. We've taken it through from the smoothest to the toughest terrains. Drove across the country with it. We've loaded up with over 100lbs of gear. We climb it constantly to reach things on the roof rack. And we've been carrying a spare wheel and tire which weigh over 110lbs, 35lbs over a stock 20" wheel and tire. We are confident the tailgate hinges were made tough. Tough enough for us to confidently offer our tailgate rack knowing it will perform well.

So to answer your question, no, you will not be over it's limit from what you described. You'll still have room for more weight

P.s. we also have a tailgate table we use while camping.

@Saltek Motorsports you already know how excited I am for this! I want to mount my Yakima RoadShower 4 7gal on here. Filled it's 87lbs and this is a WAY better solution than mounting with awning brackets to the side of my roof rack.

Even as excited as I am, I just want to verify: what is the return policy for these? Hoping to sneak my pre-order in this weekend 😁

Not sure how that would fit on the tailgate rack to be honest. Looks like it may be too long and stick out past the vehicle on both sides. And as for return policy. We have a no returns policy unless the product is defective or you want to make an exchange, but if its been under 30 days we usually honor a return minus a 5% transaction fee. The fee is unfortunately unavoidable as we get charged that for every transaction. 😊 send me some pictures of your tank and how you plan to mount it and i can let you know if it would work out for you before you make the purchase!

My ARB twin mount is excellent. Would this work with the Lucky 8 style rear ladder?

glad to hear the compressor mount worked out great! And yes! It won't interfere with the ladder at all 😊
