the p400 in stock form is definitely sufficient and really haven’t found too many times where i “needed”more power. I like to tinker and the “want” has got to me making the decision to purchase

if i had the chance i would of went with a v8 to start with. The v8 was not released yet when i purchased the p400 but times are different now and i wouldn’t pay over sticker for anything.

i have been considering the possible SVR version with the new bmw V8 and i have lots of experience with that engine. my only concern with Land Rover and their higher output engines is the loss of utility and function. They focus those cars as powerful road SUV which i feel there are better options out there. I enjoy the ruggedness of the Defender
Appreciate the info. I will likely try one, I like to tinker, let us know how it works for you. The V8's right now are just such a long wait and the whole allocation thing like trying to order the new GT3... forget it. I didn't know there would be an SVR version but for me that takes away the utility of this truck like you said. It's also my tow vehicle for boats and such. The P400 being an inline 6 with turbo and supercharger/hybrid is intriguing and hopefully reliable.

There are faint changes between the 1-7 but I could never notice this device being a "booster" or economical.
Not sure if I got a dud, or something else is going on. Basically I could not find a reason to keep it.
Depending on your expectations it may be good, or .... not.
I do believe that the vehicle is good enough to do its thing without this gadget. But this is just me.
Are you thinking of selling it?

Has anyone done this to a P300 engine for the new defender? 60 more HP seems like wishful thinking

My experience was exactly the same. Only faint changes if any with the box at any setting and the box put the vehicle into limp mode when the temperature was 4 degrees C or lower. This is nowhere near ready for prime time....

OK - so I am not crazy !
Some one else verifies my exact experience. One day, I got (just) the check engine light on.... and glad I was in my back yard when this happened and not on the road.
Once I have seen the dreaded light, I shut the engine off immediately and removed the box. Restarted and .... gone ! No idea what it was, but glad is not back.
Definitely not out of the kitchen.

Is the OP the only one that is happy with this tuner?
It seems several have seen no appreciable performance improvements and/or ended up getting a check engine light. I bought one of these but still dont have my P400 Defender yet. It seems from the limited reviews in this thread that overall its not worth installing. i would like to hear from others that have it and like it.

I, likewise, am sitting on a box of TDI stuff ready to install. They sent, originally, the wrong instructions for the P400 engine and wrong mapping to that engine.

Last week, UK tech support sent me instructions on how to install without the engine start-up, sync Bluetooth, then load down the proper engine mapping. I was planning on that installation over the weekend—but, now may just return. The rear cable is a difficult reach and that means a difficult swap out at service time. But, I suspect I will still give it a shot as the tech advisor from the UK sent details and new instructions and a new mapping download.

I did spend an hour or so last night looking for any type of cold-air filtration system, K&N, custom or otherwise. I can’t seem to find anything anywhere. Recommendations appreciated including anyone with a custom install. I have always swapped out to K&N and even their standard replacement filter improves performance. It appears from their website that they ‘make’ one for the Defender—but, out of stock. I cannot tell whether the Jaguar F-Pace L6 engine uses the same filter.

during service you would use the dummy plug and remove the tuning box. if the dealer looked hard enough they would see the extra cables. i have similar boxes on other cars and just use the dummy plugs. they have not noticed the extra cables
