Top Gear: Land Cruiser vs Defender, G-Class & Grenadier
I watched this, and how they treated the Defender was horrible. In most of its short comings it was really driver error... the first line he had in the 'bomb hole' was fine, but then he just decided to go stuff it up. If that other bloke was driving it would've gotten through fine. Their comments about the terrain response being difficult to navigate are true to some extent, but once you actually own the car and spend significant time in it it's really fine. I would definitely recommend giving the video a watch. And while your at it, watch this one for gods sake!
(hopefully it embeds
)
I remember watching this and wanting to go off-roading like that so bad. Now we can I guess lol. If you look closely, the numberplate of the car Jack (?) is driving changes, and looking up the numberplates reveals that the cars went off the road about 2 years ago. Funny thing, however, if you scroll to the bottom of the Defender page on the LR website there is a picture of the car above the title 'Tusk'. That is one of the cars from the expedition with a different set of wheels. Another one went to become a LR experience vehicle.

The video in the OP certainly makes a song and dance of an innocuous obstacle in the bomb-hole. Stopping halfway up for a chat was arguably deliberate over complication/boneheaded nonsense. This wouldn't really register as an obstacle of any significance here but I suppose they are starved for terrain of note in UK.
Just drive it without pause in lo range, whack on ATPC if you're feeling particularly lazy.
As usual the drivers seem not to know their head from a hole in the ground, nor have they bothered to familiarize themselves with the LR's tech. Difficult to select a TR mode? Are they for real?
The OEM paper-machė sidewall tires and huge rims on the Defender once again let it down, offering bonus features to content creators as they air them down. Much surprise.
