Default Towing Capacity Defender vs. New Bronco

Owner of a 2017 Range Rover Sport looking for something more utilitarian and previous owner of a Wrangler Unlimited. New Bronco only has towing capacity of 3500 lbs. vs. the Defender. If you want to tow anything its an easy choice.

Max trailer weight is still TBD. I suspect there will be some changes between now and release. 3500 isn’t ideal I agree. Are you towing a SeaDoo or a camper trailer? The Bronco and Defender are two different beast with a different market of buyers I believe.

But it is better in just about every other way I am afraid. Bronco seems like it was designed to be used off road with the factory available skid plates, steel bumpers, huge tires, mounting points, etc...

Defender is just as (if not more) capable and probably more comfortable but limited in true off road available equipment such as the bumpers, shields, etc..
