Default Turn off rear emergency braking?

When backing out of my driveway, there is often cross traffic in the far lane that the rear collision avoidance emergency braking incorrectly identifies as a need to abruptly hit the brakes. There is a setting in the infortainment system to turn this off. But every time I get back in the car it automatically resets and defaults to being on.

Is there a way to permanently disable this setting so it doesn’t come back on every time I start the car?

This is why it’s in advisable to back on to a highway or main road - why not reverse on to your driveway so you can exit forward. Much safer!

I have the same issue. Its like the Defender is bound and determined to kill me. Would like this off and stay off unless I tell it to turn on.

Wonderful idea, not an option. Small driveway, very busy street, driveway occupied by the Defender, my wife's car, my sons Jeep, and my company full sized pickup. Turning about isn't going to happen as our life currently operates.

Safety would be the Defender stop thinking its smarter than me and stop attempting to kill us when exiting the driveway
