Default Under hood battery tender connectors.

Folks, getting ready to permanently connect my battery tender but am puzzeled on how to do this…. Excuse my ignorance, but I’ve always had vehicles with an underhood battery with plenty of accessory connections, therefore have no idea how to make this work. I’m hoping that I just don’t know about an adapter to make ot work.

I do have the alligator clamps, but want to make it permanent on the posts. If this post was a bolt with a nut, it’d be perfect, but first time I see this.

You can pop the black plastic cap off the piece right behind the jump post. Highlighted below. It has a post with thread on it.

One would think a round flat push nut of the proper size would work great to hold that down.

I use the bolt under the black plastic cap. But a 3/8” plastic tube with a little D40 and a washer works also (recommended by a defender2.net forum member). Either method needs a little cutting of the plastic to retain tight fit.

Brilliant, never thought of that. Thanks. I’ll see under the black cap and if not, I’ll seriously consider these .

I'd use the provided take off points. Will allow you to place a fuse and will be a much neater install.

FWIW I used a split ring on the jump post to secure the eyelet.

What size nuts and washers did you use? I really want to do permanent setup but couldn't figure out the nut + washer size for this.
I always connect clamp under red cover and tall thread on the right (closer to ending) for ground. I had no idea black cover provides powers.
Thanks for sharing pictures.

I think it's M8. Can't recall. I'm almost certain it's M8. I have a selection on hand
