Wow, really transforms the front end, which is the part I dislike the most about the new Defender.

The front end proportions look odd, namely the black end caps without the silver bash plate to break them up. With the bash plate, I think it looks fine

Q: I've noticed LR sells an "A Frame Protection" - would that have helped? I know the front skid plates are supposed to get all banged up, but is the OEM protection more light use, and if you are going to be hitting it regularly, better to have the OEM skid plate completely removed and install that "A Frame" protection package? Looks like you had fun though .

Yes that would have helped a little I guess. I think it increases the approach angle a bit.

Still, no substitute for some better driving on my part.

It was a lot of fun.

Very interested to see. The more I look I am thinking front and rear bumper. I would love to see the bare front bumper and single bar to help make a decision. I have emailed expedition one a couple times with no response. Guess we will see if some start showing up on here.

After a long wait, was able to get the Expedition One bumper delivered and installed. Figured I'd share a few pics from the process. All in all the installation wasn't too bad, took about 5hrs with the bulk of the time being stripping down the front end. Once that was finished it was a relatively simple affair to bolt the brackets to the subframe and mount the bumper.
The Exp 1 bumper has a built in winch cradle with more than one bolt pattern to support different models of winch (I imagine). Taking it off again is a matter of 8 bolts and at minimum 3 people as it is a fairly stout unit.

In the freight bix was the necessary hardware, camera bracket, and mounting brackets. Also included was nearly 20 lbs of high density foam.

Mointing brackets installed. Hard to make out are the aux radiator support brackets. Electrical was simple, unplug from the factory plastic and snap the loom, sensors, and camera with mount into the Exp 1 bumper

Pretty pleased with the end product. The bar work follows the curve of the front fender, with an ever so slight gab between the bar and body work. There is some room for final adjustment between the mounting brackets and bumper. I will do a final adjustment in about a week or so after everything settles

Wow!!! Just, wow! There weren't many choices a few years ago when I got my AU OEM version. But if I were to start over, THAT would be at the top of my list. Well done and looks great.

Superb @Migs8416 I saw your post in the "What did you do to your Defender today" and was hoping you'd post in this thread too. A buddy has one ordered. Front and rear bumper with a winch. I'm looking forward to seeing one in the flesh. I really like the low protection with this design. That's really where it's needed for me. A little lacking in that area with the OEM roo-bar. Good to know it's an easy off solution for future winch mounting. 8 bolts and a bit of heavy lifting sounds good.

Edit: Great looking garage too. I'm very jealous of that space.
