Fwiw, Carpathian is f**king amazing in person in the sun. That picture I put up, it was filthy. It was at port for 3 months and all it has had since is a quick rinse. It still had depth and shine like nothing else on the lot.
For those who have not seen it yet in person, you will not be disappointed!
Does anyone have a recent Vista screen grab still showing the 22” Satin Grey wheel under the options section of their build that they would be willing to share? Mine used to have them & it was recently updated by JLR to the 22” 5098 GLOSS DARK GREY DIAMOND TURNED wheels. They are saying these are the only alternative to the standard Gloss Black on the Carpathian Edition (the Satin Grey is only available in 20” & is an error by JLR showing as a 22” option & is going to be corrected on their configurator to the 22” Gloss Dark Grey Diamond Turned). I’m just wondering what these actually look like?

Glad to hear that. I haven’t seen one in person yet. But I ordered Carpathian Grey. I was debating between that and black.
Stopped by my JLR dealer earlier today and had a long chat with the GSM.
Long story short, he's been told that any of the V8 builds that were in the system with production dates that had their dates deleted from said system a couple of months ago will now be 23MY cars. Keep in mind that my V8CE was originally slated for July 21 delivery. Something to do with them waiting for current gen V8 engines to become available for it once the new gen V8 starts going into next gen FFRRs and RRSs. He didn't know if they will make 23MY early or to expect them in the fall of 22 as per usual. I honestly didn't grasp the whole V8 constraint thing cause I've completely tuned out on this vehicle. If I ever get a production date again I'll reconsider if I want it at that time, if there's an SVR version available, if there's a new gen RRS SVR available, or just bail on the whole brand.
Cancelling your order with no communication and then likely hitting you with a price increase to reorder a year later is a terrible way to treat any buyer let alone the most valuable enthusiast top-trim buyers.
This is what happens when your head of "customer satisfaction" in c-suite is a former manufacturing, safety, and ops guy. A f***ing electrical engineer. WTH.
For that matter, "director of quality" at JLR is so cringe-worthy. Imagine how many doors would get slammed on you with that on your resume. Wow. This guy!
Registered to update here. Been lurking a long while. I placed an order last Spring at the time of the reveal for the V8 and the CE. All Summer I heard nothing. Emails went unanswered and then two days ago I get an email from the dealer manager that my CE is arriving second week of December. It is in fact a 2023 model year. As far as we can tell it will be one of, if not THE first, carpathian edition vehicles in the U.S. This has been the absolute strangest process I have ever been a part of.
This all seems odd to me. I've got a similar timeline on a D90 CE but scheduled to be built in December and delivered in early February. However I've been told very clearly that's a 22 per my Dealer. If a 23 were you given '23 options?
