It's been talked about by The Insider. Search is your friend.

The V8 engine weighs a lot more and so they would have had to repeat qualification and certification with a higher GVW. That is incredibly expensive to do.

You can still fit roof rails and a rack or bars. You just can’t spec this from the factory.

Sorry. I must not have researched well enough. I've looked before and also asked my dealer who didn't have an answer.

@Jacksonian71 - He describes the reasons on Post #22 of this thread: Link. Good luck.

Search on this Forum is the ONLY thing I don't like. Other than the random trolls, but hey - this is the internet. I never use the standard "Search". Always make sure you use "Advanced Search". Narrow to the "2020 Defender" and go for it.

So I finally pickup my car last night and after first impression, not impressed…

I was expecting to be much more lounder and aggressive or should I say, Dynamic.
No where near my buddy’s RSQ8.

I drove it again this morning and felt a little better.
Will see next week once wrapping is done & I can drive it for few days.

Perhaps 🤔 the 90’s would of been more fun. If I can’t get used to it I will just flip it for something else…

I don't disagree with that assessment. I thought it would be louder and more aggressive sounding. Maybe I saw some YouTube review that said that some UK rules about car noise made them quiet down the exhaust. But I love my Carpathian Edition.

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that!

Thank you! I tinted the front windows. Going to add side steps and maybe the rear spoiler (kinda iffy on that). After waiting a year for it, I'll say that the V8 rumble was the think I was most looking forward to, but turned out to be the least cool/interesting part of the vehicle. BUT, I will say that it makes me love the rest of the Defender more. I think I'd feel, I dunno, kinda dinky in the V6. The V8 is just more substantial. It's like adding a subwoofer to a great sound system, it just fills the midrange and supports the rest of the sound. I love the design of the V8 Carpathian. I may never go back to a non-satin wrap car. I love the interior. The Meridian system is sick. I love the huge vent in that rear pillar that blows a massive wall of A/C at my dog. The Pivy Pro infotainment is killer. And it's just kinda cool.
