V8 Carpathian Edition Inbound
I ordered a ‘22 D90 Carpathian Edition & today 06/14 is its “lock date”. The only option I keep jumping back and forth between is the standard 22” Gloss Black Wheels or the optional 22” Dark Grey Satin. I know it’s just person preference & all input I’ve had is stick with the Gloss Black..I guess I’ve just never liked black tires with black wheels but maybe the color combo on this model will be great?! I know, first world problems but any input would be great! Thanks.
Very jealous as I would have bitten my dealers hand off for a Carpathian Edition but they have not come to Canada for some unknown reason. I’ve had an order submitted for a V8 since April and still not confirmed by JLR. Send pics or your CE when it arrives.
P.S I think all the press photos of the CE have dark satin wheels
I'm going with the grey wheels. Black to me is over done and everyone and the mother has it on cars of all shapes and sizes. I think the grey wheels will look good with the front fascia and Carpathian grey paint.
I went with the gray satin rims also. I have gloss black rims on my RRS. I don’t find the gloss black hard to keep clean, but I do think it’s over done and is a little on the showy “baller” side of style. Either will look great. The gloss black would go nicely with the gloss black hood and tailgate.
I had originally built mine with the grey wheels as well, but chickened out and reverted back to black. If I had done the non carpathian edition gloss grey paint I would have gone with the grey wheels, but I didn’t want to take the chance that the grey wheels wouldn’t match the satin grey finish of the carpahian edition, so I decided to match the wheels to the hood and the other gloss black contrasts rather than have black and two different greys on the car.

Yeah, it’s hard enough to get a sense of true color on a computer screen from actual pictures, I have no confidence whatsoever when trying to do it from renderings.
All the renderings I have seen make the so called satin grey wheels appear more like gloss grey. In the end they might end up perfectly matching the satin ppf on grey paint or they might look completely different … it might look amazing in real life but it also might look off, especially to my ocd sensibilities. Gloss black is gloss black, so at least one can have certainty about what it will end up looking like.
Still was a close call for me tho … with a real chance that when I see the grey wheels in person I might regret my decision.

Then again I thought being in Boston with salt all over the roads would those gloss black wheels look awful 9 months of the year? If I hated the dark grey satin could I haces them dipped gloss black? In the end I’m sure either will look great but totally understand the OCD factor around the details!
Hi guys! Im considering a 110 V8 Carpathian Edition as well and have a few questions:
1. Did anyone get the Satin Protective Film from factory and if so, is it an extra cost option?
2. How kind of pricing can I expect? How much over factory invoice pricing can I expect?
Im a total Land Rover newbie and wondering if their factory ordering process is similar to what Ive done with BMW, AMG, Porsche in the past. Thanks!
