V8 Carpathian Edition - North America

Maybe JLR will realize that taking a V8 Defender and drifting around, tearing up the woods isn't a priority for most of us. Bring on the V8 Defender SVX that can tow anything and carry tons of gear and outdoor toys. And don't forget to offer 20" wheels instead of those ridiculous 22" wheels.

The new supercharged V8 will weigh more, and for the extra torque it produces the vehicle may also need a more hefty transmission and heavier brakes. Together these could easily consume the 220 lb. allowed dynamic roof load with all season tires, I suppose.
They may need to stay within all the presently certified weights to avoid having to redesign and requalify the remainder of the vehicle with government regulators? With sales only to realistically occur in the U.S., maybe recertification is not a realistic option?
If they do not include the roof rails, will they include points on which to mount an aftermarket rack? We will see.....

Yeah I saw this - but I really doubt that they're going to be built with a different roof than any other defender. So I expect it will arrive without rails - but still with the roof channels with plastic caps over bolts and holes - so you can fit them afterwards. There are YT vids showing you how to do this and it's very straightforward.
