Welcome to the club! This is my V8 CE. Totally worth it if you ask me but if you ask my wife she will tell you she doesn’t like my lead foot on this thing. 😂

How did the ride change? I'm thinking of going down to 20"s and putting some oversized tires but not AT. What size are those?

Size of the tires are 275/55-20. The ride has changed in that there is some tire noise, not loud or annoying, but you can hear it, whereas with the factory setup, there was zero tire noise. From a comfort standpoint, I can't really tell much of a difference, it's a pretty comfortable vehicle overall. If I didn't want to run AT tires, I would have just continued to rock the 22's. I can't see much of a reason to downsize to the 20's otherwise. There is still a good amount of tire sidewall on the 22's, it's not like a low-profile tire on a sports car.

I just put my 18” wheel setup with RT tires back on, pending an Atlanta-to-Moab trip next month. I normally run the 20” OEM Goodyear setup. I noticed the noise and slight roughness to the ride immediately, but in the past I’ve gotten used to it quickly and then don’t notice at all till I put the OEMs back on and go, “Oh yeah, THAT’S what “quiet” means.” Mine are Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks. Far from the noise of a full MT, but still discernible for sure.

Of course, with these Super Swamper bias-plies on my Jeep you NEVER get used to the noise, which is why I trailer them behind the Jeep till I get to Moab. But still have to do a lot of road driving to get to the various trails and it’s earplug time for that.
