Default Value of New Wheels

I have a set of (5) 22" wheels/tires brand new from my Defender. They were removed before even taking delivery. I'm not sure what they are worth and was hoping I could get some feedback before I post them for sale.

Probably around $1500 total for the 5 wheels & tires. 22's are harder to sell since they are mostly for on-road use.

Check ebay for similar wheels already posted for sale. Or see if a dealer parts department is willing to buy them from you.

Yes, go to eBay. Lots of take-offs. $1500 sounds about right.

I think the sale value also depends on where you’re located. What region are you in?

$4,500.00 is the going rate, if you sell them for $1,500.00 you're giving them away.

Aftermarket wheels have zero value to the dealer on trade and they will ding you without the original wheels on the car.

That's closer to the price I was thinking.

Fair point about trade in.

Let me know if you would sell them for $1500. I would buy them.

I’d set your expectations low and be happy if you can find anyone who’s even willing to make a serious offer, let alone follow through on a sale.

Could just be my experience, but with a relatively common (let alone overpriced) OEM takeoff, there’s just never a lot of money in it for the reseller.

Of course, your mileage may vary and you can certainly get lucky finding someone who really wants ‘em. Best of luck.

Don't follow the advice of those that don't have first hand experience with Defender wheels.

I wanted a set of satin black 22" wheels instead of the gloss black wheels that came with my 90, so I went shopping and the average retail price of the satin or gloss black wheels is $4,500.00 with tires.

I now have satin black 22" wheels and tires sitting in the garage and a few months later now I have 20" satin black wheels with 305/50/20 all terrain tires on the 90.

I honestly don't think I will put the 22's back on the car again...
