Bought my skid plate from Bearmach as I ordered this from the dealer in January and still hasn't arrived. I watched PowerfulUK both videos. The whole bumper does NOT need to come off but it is much more fiddly. Getting the air duct push fasteners are a real pain and I broke one tab.
Typical LR, I had to grind out the two front holes by 1/4 inch to get the holes to line up. It takes a big nut/washer so I'm not worried. I shot it with some paint to minimize rust after grinding.
Main benefit is exposed front recovery point, thicker aluminum vs plastic cover, and it bolts to other skid plate underneath which has impressive protection.
Its most straight forward to take off the whole bumper but I was worried about destroying clips and not getting it back together. In order to install without full removal, remove the plastic piece its replacing. U do the lower rubber lip with 4 screws. Lift up wheel arch slightly and pull hard to pop out the side of of bumper. Review PowerfulUK video to see. The whole wheel arch does not need to be completely removed, there is a tab at the bottom that slots into the side of the bumper.
Bolts are 13mm and 15mm for removal. It's tough getting the tree push connectors out of the old frame as there isn't much room to work with the front of the bumper still on.
At the end, there are lots of extra bolts as u reuse some old ones and use some new ones. There are LR instructions online LAND ROVER ACCESSORY FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
To grind open the holes, I left the bar on the truck and tilted it forward. Used some cheap grinder/rasp attachments on my drill. Tried a dremel at first but metal too thick. I then shot it with some spray paint for protection.
It is doable but not sure it saved any time... but it did save breaking some plastic (except the brake duct tabs as mentioned earlier - have zip-ties on hand to re-secure the ducts)👍
