Default Water Leakage from Rear Camera Washer on Defender - Help Needed!

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a problem with my 2024 Land Rover Defender. The rear camera washer is leaking water, and I'm not sure why this is happening. Before taking it to the service center, I wanted to see if anyone else has faced this issue and found a solution.

Here's a bit more detail on the problem:
- Water drips from the rear camera washer.
- The issue persists even after ensuring the washer system is properly filled.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What could be causing the water leakage, and what steps can I take to fix it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Yes. This has been an issue for a number of years. I posted a temporary solution. Runner caps from Amazon that fit right over the washer nipple. A short term solution. Definitely take it to your dealer. They haven’t found a way to get the spring load right after the washer is engaged.

Take it to your dealer and let them figure it out. Your car is under warranty.

Yeah, mine did this for a couple years, but only when it was cold outside and cold enough in my garage for it to leak. The hose for the rear camera washer jet was bad. It was part #LR147412, and after the replacement it hasn't leaked at all.

I still have a blue stain on my garage floor from all the washer fluid that leaked out, but I digress.

Default Potential solution

Empty the reservoir and pour in a liter of hot water, then continually use the rear window washer until empty. Repeat this several times.
Initially I tried a mix of 50% cleaning vinegar and hot water, but try just the hot water first and see how you do.

It's not a blockage, so I'm curious how hot water will help?

I had this issue and I covered the washer with a black cap, as per wfwalton's earlier post, but obviously it doesn't cure the leak, and it stops the washer working.

I understood it to be a build up of crystalised washer fluid in the valve, which prevents it from closing. There was some temporary stoppage to the drippping, but it is now back again. So now I have also ordered the black caps.

Had this too, put the cap on it for a few months and at the next service mentioned it. Their reply was it's a known issue and there is a TSB issued for it. So they fixed it for free, it took them a week! And I swear they broke a couple of clips/clip housings. Good luck!

What did they do to repair it?
