Default Weird Issue

Ok here is one for all of you. My defender started to give a warning that the suspension (compressor) was overheating and would only raise the truck once cooled. A little inconvenient when in the middle of some rough trails. After looking here I suggested that the dealer replace all the height sensors which they did. Now I need to take it off road to see if it is really fixed

The weird part is that I don't think this fixed the problem. I have been noticing the last few months that the truck would just start lowering and raising the front end constantly. It would go on and on unless I adjusted the height to another setting and back again. It is still doing this at odd time and nothing seems to trigger it that I can tell. Happens about once a day. My gut is telling me that this is the real issue. When it was in for service when they changed the height sensors there where no errors at all. I have no idea what could be causing this and open to ideas from this group

Go to the 4x4 info page. It will show where the suspension thinks it should be and where the level sensors think it is. Leave that page up and see if the level sensors are doing weird positions and then watch the suspension try and follow. If the sensors and or its associated wiring are the issue it will be evident there in living animation.

Leaky air strut? I had a similar problem with our I Pace. They replaced an air strut under warranty.

All good advice IMO. Could also be a leaking cross over valve, or a leaking air line. All fixable under warranty.

That is the other interesting thing. The 4X4 screen sometimes displays properly and sometimes shows items greyed out and the tires spinning when they are not. When the front end is moving up and down it is reflected properly on the display regardless of being greyed our or not.

I thought this as well but I would expect the suspension to lower at night but so far it does not but will double check tonight and measure in the evening and morning
