I didn't think this vehicle would attract any Volvo drivers!

The new XC90 is not super durable, quite a few problems like roof leaks, evaporator (big $), EGR hoses, suspension wears out by 70K km, not fan of Census system ( would prefer real buttons and switches) and they only have mild hybrid now. Air suspension is not reliable in colder climates.
On the other hand I'm keeping my old 16 year old XC90 until it dies.

XC90 is a spacious, 2-3 row midsized SUV, with a pretty luxurious interior, known to be good in the rain and snow, and offers something different compared to the Germans while still being European. This is what most Defender buyers are looking for I think, and then there are those upgrading from the XC60.
The wagons can be described the same, except for the SUV part, but they are raised a little IIRC so similar target audience.

Came from a 2022 Ford Bronco. Nice vehicle with good off road chops and decent on road manners, though with irksome loud wind noise at highway speeds despite the hard top. Unfortunately the list of possible catastrophic failures on that vehicle made me feel as if I was driving a ticking time bomb. Numerous (79 so far) unexpected engine failures from the 2.7 V6, brake failures, fuel pump failures, hard tops delaminating, and tie rods apparently breaking for no reason put a cloud over me whenever I drove it. Although mine experienced none of those issues I always wondered when, not if. That coupled with experiencing my wife's Range Rover Velar SV Autobiography made the choice relatively easy. Nice part, the Land Rover dealer gave me more in trade than I paid for the Bronco. Couldn't be happier.
