same here - loved my Polestar Optimized T6 R-Design and was hard to give it up. Although I miss my autopilot assist for highway driving, I found the rear cargo space to be disappointing overall for my needs (mostly the size of the hatch opening).

Very surprised to not see Mercedes on there, especially considering the G-wagen is one of the nearest Defender competitors. Yeah, most are fashion accessories, but I know of more than a handful in my city that are actually off-roaded regularly.
My previous was a lifted Mercedes R500. Yeah, the van thing, in non-AMG V8 form. Loved it, they're pretty underrated. But wanted more capability and modern features.

Hmm, guess I am a little old school.
I switched over from a 1998 Discovery. It was my daily driver for nearly 20 years with a little over 175k on the clock. Hopefully the Defender lasts just as long, sorta doubt it though. We'll see.
Still have my Discovery, one day it'll get a full makeover.

That is surprising. Although a few "early adopters" of the all new Defender that came from a Lexus didn't last too long. They sold their Defenders to Carmax once the first problem appeared. Those of us coming from a previous LR model view "reliability woes" as something normal and expected with owning a British vehicle. Thankfully my experience so far is that the Slovakian workers and robots that build the Defender are doing a better job than the British workers that built the LR4.
