Finally made time to install my new Lucky8 rear ladder. While I had the bumper off I added tow loops, painted the silver, and added additional backup lights. Did some custom work.
The Lucky8 ladder upper bracket is too tall for my Prospeed rack. So I cut it up and changed the shape. Threw out the roof bracket and big bolt and just direct bolted the upper bracket to the included rail mounting nut.
Works great and is plenty solid.
After looking at lots of aftermarket backup light options I decided to do my own thing. Didn’t like the idea of paying for a kit to only use half of it since the lower ladder bracket makes mounting a left side light not so easy. Ended up mounting two Baja Design S2 flush mount lights one on either side of the license plate. Went with the wide corner lens to get as wide of a pattern as possible. Waiting for it to get dark to see how well they actually work. Fingers crossed they work great.
