Had my factory steering wheel damaged by a valet at dinner one night and thought I'd try out a different steering wheel. I kinda like the feel and look. What do y'all think? Took like 40 minutes to swap them.

That's cool I wouldn't put it in my car personally but I like the look. Do you have a link? Curious to see what else they offer. Install pretty straight forward?
Install was super easy, the only complaint was the angle you have to physically sit to be able to undo the airbag clips. I would send a link but it came from a contact with an overseas manufacturer and they made the wheel for me. It ended up taking like 3-4 months to actually have it in my hands.

Very nice look! Makes me wonder why LR doesn't offer that as an option with their faux walnut and oak interior trim offerings.
Of course I"m left to be concerned how a valet can damage a steering wheel to the point it required replacement but that's likely a 3 drink minimum story

that’s 100% all I was focused on. How does a valet damage a steering wheel to the point of replacement? Id literally believe any other part of the car… but a steering wheel? Inquiring minds…

Precise reason I don’t use valet parking. Ever notice the sign over the valet area: NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE OR LOST ITEMS. So, I’m expected to hand over my keys to some teen-to-twenty something, with my dash cams, assorted personal items, and whatever else one carries in their vehicle, and they have no responsibility for any scratches or dents which may occur? Not happening. Attended a wedding once, and after I was just walking into the venue I realized I needed something from my car. Went down into the parking garage and witnessed some barely out of high-schooler screeching tires on someone’s BMW as he sped through the aisles to park it and run back for the next one. Haven’t used a valet since that day.
A little DIY this afternoon. Pretty easy install after watching the Powerful UK install video (those guys are great!)
I find it mind boggling that the engineers are LR would think it was a good design to cover the recover loop with a solid piece of plastic. I could only imagine being stuck in the mud and having to climb under the truck to unscrew that thing!
Today I spent several hours removing the passenger side headlight due to a cracked lens, and replacing the lens, saving close to $2000. How it happened I have no idea, never heard or felt any impact. A replacement LED matrix headlight assembly is priced at over $1500, so guessing a dealer fix is close to $2k. The replacement lens runs about $225 from PowerfulUK, but in case you heard the muted expletives, that was me trying to remove the old broken lens from the headlight housing assembly. There are several clips around the perimeter of the assembly but it soon became apparent that there was more than those holding it in place. It is sealed with an incredibly strong adhesive/sealant which required me to cut out the fascia part of the lens using a Dremel and an oscillating saw. Then I used several methods to remove the remaining shards from the groove around the perimeter, one being an old soldering iron to dig into and melt and soften the adhesive, and also a very small tipped flat blade screwdriver to separate the adhesive/sealant from the housing. I used a strong adhesive to reseal the new lens onto the assembly and reinstalled the headlight into the front grill. If you watch PowerfulUK’s video, he attempts to wrench the front grill and headlight trim forcibly, damaging some retaining clips in the process, but with patience and finesse, I removed it easily with no damage. I then installed some protective lens covers over the existing headlights to hopefully avoid this painstaking process in the future, which I found on eBay. Had I had these on originally, the damage may have been avoided in the first place. Something to think about.
@WTFChuck Love this idea! Do you have any post installation pics?
A1. Adjusted the front drivers seating position & related bits
A2. Accepted Delivery and Drove it home from the dealership
A3. Confirmed it fit in the garage
Yah - it's a little bit of a sarcastic comment - and not intended to hijack or detract from the thread - but I just couldn't resist after what felt like an endless wait!
