I like it. Small, but I like it. The interior looks a little cheap though. Thoughts, impressions?

Ask my 15yo. We have an Outer Banks Bronco (not sport) on order for him. We've seen it in person and he loves it. I asked him if he would consider, for the same price, switching to a base Defender with a $5k option allowance. "No thank you, I'll wait for my Bronco".

There has never been a conversation about the Sport other than him saying "they're not doing the Bronco name any favors by releasing that first".

I think this is called good parenting.

It is a fwd based crossover, basically a next generation Escape. It's fine for what it is, which is a competitor for a Jeep Renegade.

2000 pound towing capacity tells me it's a cute little toy.

Really depends on what problem you are looking to solve. Considering your current list of whips, I can imagine it may seen a bit cheap and down-market. But for a lot of people, who want a somewhat rugged good looking compact sport utility with an outdoorsy attitude and doesn't look like a typical CSU, but in reality don't do anything more difficult than a dirt road, this will be a perfect fit.
Ford will sell a lot of them.

Everybody is pretty much summing this up pretty well. It's certainly one of the best looking in the compact crossover segment. The more upright design is more practical for rear cargo and will certainly compete with the Renegade and TRD Rav 4 for best soft roader. I'm personally not a fan of the 3-cylinder and think the 2.0l 4-cyl is the better option.
