The defender’s colors are very “dull” in shade, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t pretty or fit the car. Yes I wish they had more options, but there are some I really like. I love black and Santorini is my number 1 pick for any car, but color wise, Lantau Bronze is gorgeous in person on a defender, that would def be my number 2 pick.
A few other shades like Carpathian and Silicon are also super nice. My 90 was Eiger but it only shines in clouds or rain in my opinion. Hakuba and Yulong aren’t too bad. Would 100% do the contrast roof though, either black or white depending on config.
I went with Pangea Green, while you can't see it from orbit It looked great to me. I do agree though with the lack of color in cars. Some have gotten so bad that you only get Black/White/Silver (Audi Q4, VW ID.4) unless you up trim it then you only get a blue option. Crazy.
When I complain about this during car purchase I get told it's because the 'average days on lot' of any color that isn't the trio of boring takes more than 45 days to sale. The black/white/silver go in days, and the rest sit there for months.
With the days of buying off the lot largely gone for now and most cars made to order there's really no reason not to offer wider and more interesting paint colors. Land Rover absolutely should be a little bolder and offer up some extra options.
For ‘23.5MY, you can get it in Lantau Bronze too. Which I actually like.
I saw they just added that... nice! I really wanted Eiger... Carpathian was my second choice. It si frustrating when you're paying more for something and get less choices... For instance, you can't get a leather steering wheel in the v8... Why?! I really hate alcantara
