OP….you’re not crazy 😜 lol. Whilst I do like the “normal” colors on the Defenders, I think they all look pretty darn good, but color choice is completely personal, and if you like it…that’s what counts! After I retired and didn’t really have a reason to drive something that needed to “fit in” or be toned down, color wise, I’ve started gravitating towards the more unusual colors or what I call “fun”! My only regret is not doing this sooner
I’m a new member, but have been on the forums countless times, as we’ve had many LR vehicles in the past, but they were my wife’s daily driver/kid haulers. I was in the market for a new defender, for a more daily driver/long distance if needed type vehicle, as I haven’t had a LR in a while, my other vehicles are more fun toys, and we really enjoyed our past experiences with the brand. I chose the 75th anniversary edition mainly because of the color and the fact that it’s not like all the rest. My garage resembles skittles now and I’m pleased to have these “not so normal” colors! If I want / need to be in a normal color….I’ll ride with my wife
My point for the OP….Go with what you’ll enjoy!….life is short

Although it is generally a boring pallet, I think the colors they do have are done well. Carpathian Grey, Yulong White, Lantau Bronze, etc. All great deep colors that change with different lighting conditions. But, it would be nice to see a wider range of colors. More greens, blues and maybe reds.

Color is very subjective and personal. I happen to like the all the Defender colors, and I think they all compliment the body style and I wouldn’t be upset to have any of them. Before I retired I typically stayed with the safe colors other than an occasional weekend car that I had. Now, a few years after retiring, I’ve found that my garage looks like skittles and I’m enjoying being “different” with my color choices. My wife has her favorites as well and she has one brightly colored toy now as well. I just wish I had went a little more bolder earlier in life.
‘I bought the 75th anniversary 110 yesterday and the color was a majority of the reason. I found that I enjoy having something a bit different than I see all the time.
OP…if I were you…pick what you’ll love….no matter what society thinks, resale, etc… life is short
