Can anyone tell me, is the WiFi hotspot another add on? or should I be seeing it with the online data plan?I run a mifi which is currently down and the reason I ask. Regards in advance..

 

Pretty sure you turn on the WiFi hotspot in the "Connectivity" settings. It isn't an app.

Thanks Carlmuck. I see WiFi and mobile data but no hotspot so I guess I don’t have it. I was confused by the online data plan and was thinking it may include the hotspot.

 

I have the same problem. Online Pack with Data Plan is active, mobile connection is on, WiFi connection is on and working. The menu option 'hot spot' disapeared. What is wrong?

I began to question if I misread the feature when I ordered it. I think the hotspot connection is a casualty of the buggy software they can't seem to fix. When my system was acting up I was scrolling through the menu items and saw it listed in Connectivity. It never let me connect a device and when I did the hard reset using the volume button it disappered, never to return. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update...

 

Did you have to order the online pack from the factory? I have never had the option despite having an active online pack with data plan. I thought maybe if the pack wasn't selected as an option at time of order, maybe the wifi broadcaster wasn't installed. But I can connect to my home wifi, so it seems silly they would install a receiving antenna only.

Like I said, I only saw the hotspot connection option because I was having problems with the system and just happened to see it and catch a screenshot. I would think since we purchased the online pack we should have hotspot connectivity. Hopefully the problem its part of the software known issues and LR is working to correct the problem...

I will say in the above link there's a note: The availability of Hotspot depends on the market and the specification of the vehicle. No mention of where that applies...

I did not select the option at time of order cause I just assumed it was pre-paying for a year subscription. My dealer assumed the same thing...

 

Once again: When I started the new vehicle (Disco Sport P300e) for the first time, the option "hotspot" was available in the connectivity menu. After a while (may be after I connected to my WLAN), the option disappeared and was never seen again, even if I turned the WLAN off and on. I'm sure this is a bug. Disco Sport P300e HSE.
