I don’t like the way the Defender has the fluid coming out of blade. I notice that I don’t get fluid on certain parts of the windshield, but this may just be me. Can someone please post a video of the fluid coming out of their blades pleas? Then I’ll know if I have to go to the dealership to have them look at it. Thank you!

 

Mine seem to work fine, although the wiper blades started to judder after only 6,000 miles and l had to replace them.

 

Mine is the same - disappointing but one of those things I guess?

I just purchased my 23.5 a couple months ago I noticed this as well. It appears that my driver side blade, does not throw out anywhere near the amount of fluid that the passenger side does … I was wondering if this is normal as well?

 

The ports sending out the fluid are small ball and port assemblies. Since the beginning of windshield washer squirt systems, they need adjustment from time to time or, from the very beginning of their service. If yours look like mine, you stick a pin in the hole and re-aim them. Moving the ball a small amount each time. It takes patience and you do not want to exert too much force on it.

I have had to do this to virtually every car I have owned from Porsche to Beetle.

 

Thanks! I'll try adjusting them. I do wish the fluid was a spread was wider and not just a stream.

 

@Dogpilot do some of them move and some not? I’ve tried adjusting the driver side lower nozzle (closest to the hinge) like I’ve done on past cars and it just will not budge. That nozzle is the worst one as it seems to spray just at the very edge of what the blade actually wipes

 

I was able to move them all with a small flathead screwdriver. They’re still a thin stream though and should be a wide spray. There are still spots on the windshield that don’t get any spray.

 

That one lower one on the outer assembly may just be more of a flooding nozzle, as it does not appear to have an adjustable ball. If you cannot get it to move without too much effort, best live with it. You can wallow out the hole in the nozzle and that makes it less of a stream. Nearly every car I have done this to has been slightly different. So far I have been lucky, my Defender's ones are right on the cusp of needing adjustment. Sometimes things are best left alone. At least these work, the last Defender, the 97 ST they where more decretive than effective.
