I’ll be damned. I just tried using a poker this time instead of a literal pin and it moved. Definitely was not using enough force with the pin (maybe it was the cold too, last time I tried was during a frustration fit during the winter)

what’s a poker? I used a small screwdriver but sticking something in the hole would make it easier to maneuver.

I feel this is another thing LR tried to "reinvent the wheel" and screwed up big time. I have never had this experience before in a ton of cars I drove. Every time I will spray/squirt the windshield in my Defender I try to calculate when to actually pull the lever, so the squirt comes out at the right spot where more dirt is accumulated. It is an awkward feeling doing so and requires training. My previous experiences were all that I would not even think about it. Pull the damn lever, spray the windshield and the wipers would come and do their thing. Voila, clean windshield.

I just hold it down. This car doesn’t really like to spray on its way down (aside from just as it bottoms out). Only sprays the fluid just ahead of the blade. Probably to not leave fluid lingering. It doesn’t bug me that much if the streams hit in okay spots but before adjusting the driver side, it left a fairly wide spot uncovered
-edit- I’ve driven other cars with washers on the arms that do similar.. spray just ahead of the blade sweep. But the ones with nozzles on the hood, they spray and cover the window then the wipers start moving

There's a setting in the GapIID tool for windshield washers.

Something like the option to pick: spray upward stroke only, spray downward stroke only, OR spray up and down stroke. Mine was set from factory to "upward only".

I tried futzing with it to do up and down, but it didn't do anything. I did forget to reboot Pivi so it may just have been my lack of doing it right.

Anyways, I think from stock the front wipers spray on the "up" stroke only. So I figured if I changed the CCF to "up and down" it might get more juice on the window.

My drivers blade does not seem to be shooting fluid? Passenger works fine.
