So very cool! I’m sure as you’ve seen me mention in other threads and my silly Disco thread that I’ve been into Adventure Riding for longer than I’ve been into D2s. A bucket list for the ADV rider is the Alcan, and we’ve not settled enough (I’m sure you’ve seen how much we’ve moved over the years) for me to get into serious planning. I’ve read many ride reports of trips up there, and yours is very similar- just in a 4 wheeled machine.

As I’m getting more lazy as I age, I’m uncertain I’d do this on 2 wheels any longer, but it is still on the bucket list, and as such could be done in a 4 wheeled machine.

Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously for a bit.

TTS,
Saw my fair share of motorcyclist, for sure. And they were always camping in primitive too. So l'd see them roll in...in the pouring rain and think...man, that must suck. And there were several about my age, surprisingly. But then l'd see the cyclist, head down going up some steep long grade in the rain...then l'd think...No, that sucks. A couple of those folks were older too...iron men and women.

Me, being in a 34 year old vehicle, Land Rover at that, made it challenging enough at my age, 64, and the phyiscal issues assoicated with Rheumtoid Arthritis. But do it somehow, in something...you won't regret it. I'm looking forward to doing it again.

I used to ride my various motorcycles around a lot when I lived in AK, we did a trip over Solstice weekend, the Dust to Dawson run, or just for the halibut (in Whittier at the Swiftwater)
Passing those people on heavily loaded bicycles struggling up hills on the stretch of the Glenn Highway between King River and Glennallen , narrow shoulders, steep hills and mosquitos in clouds made me wonder how much fun they were actually having. Trip of a lifetime!
