Looks like a grand time. Yes, overlanding is just that, back roading and camping. Not eveything is about mud and rough terrain. Land rovers are the best of both worlds for this, comfort and durability. Bringing friends together in beautiful places and building memories.

Hoping to do a solo overland trip next month with my wife, across the upper peninsula of Michigan. Wife's first attempt at sleeping in the back of the rover...so...it should be interesting. Going to mix in some motel stays, just to break it up for her.

Anyhow...

Thank you, for sharing.

Brian.

Awesome pics. Looks like a load of fun. Glad there was a DI hanging in there! Fall and Winter are approaching. Hope to see more folks taking similar trips and posting their reports.

The D1 was fantastic. The trip was a great low stress cruise that allowed us to just enjoy. Next stop for me is MAR (Mid-Atlantic Rally) in Virginia in 2 weeks.

Thanks for the compliments, ya'll should join us next year!

I’ve got to get back into it. I used to do a lot of LR outings and lthen life snuck up and detoured me. Instead of having a Disco for the trails like I had, I have a garage queen that is literally in mint condition by DI standards, a true survivor. I need to buy a trail truck and just havent pulled the trigger yet. I live vicariously through the site members and adventurers like yourself lol.

we had a 1000 mile D5 HSE out there with us. There was no risk to doing damage on this trip. Your stock disco would have been safe and a blast to have in the congo line.

I am getting away from bouncing around off road parks I think. I really enjoy the adventure of the map reading, no cell service and epic views.
