I had a D2 rust bucket do that kind of thing to me. First clue I had was when the wheels wouldn't come off lol. Gotta love a 30min job that turns into all day.
It put up a bit of a fight coming out of the diff, but the right pry bar and a couple whacks with a 3 lb sledge and winning was the way.
I am still legitimately stunned AutoZone had that CV Shaft in stock. It does convert you to the 36mm nut so keep that in mind. So I put the last of the new wheels and skid plate on. Then loaded the trailer with a bunch of spares and a few cool things.
Great seeing ya out there! I did 3 repair/recoveries on Saturday and was all over the darn place. We were getting my friends LR3 back up to the pavilion (off the trail) and missed the main photo shoot over at the boulder field. We did make the dinner & raffle though. Then we did a night run or two before going down to old camp. After that the guy with the overheating LR3 decided to go back to camp so I followed him to make sure nothing happened. His electronic efan clutch is totally INOP, and then it sounds like he either has a rear hub going out or his ebrake is trashed. Got up Sunday loaded up, and just messed around until 10-11ish and then ate lunch in Gilmer and headed back. Zero issues with the XD and for once I wasn't constantly landing on the darn Steering Stabilizer!!! I still want the relocation bracket from RTE, but I never get a return call or email from Simon... Hope you made it back safely and take care man!
