Blue Ridge Expeditions Hosted Event

5th Annual Winter Safari

I have been to 3 of these and had a great time. Winter outdoor primitive camping is free with hot showers/tiolets or there are area cabins you can rent. There is room for smaller travel trailers, but dry camping for the most part, but I believe there may be a few electrical hook-ups, but I would not plan on it. Very small country store usually cooks up breakfast and dinner specifically for the vent and available by the plate, if you care to purchase there, or you can cook-up your own. Typically registrations and arrivals Friday afternoon/night. Usually a night ride at 9 or 10 for those who want to go out with host guiding the tour and trained support staff bringing up the rear to make sure everyone is OK. Marshall Grant and his team will guide you and assist you on the trails as needed. Saturday is a full-day on the trails, typically, with you bringing your own lunch to eat during lunch break on the trails where some of the more modified vehicles play on some more aggressive obstacles while others watch. Depending on the Sat. ride and how long it take depending on return from main ride, theire may be a Sat. night ride as well. Sunday morning can involve some recovery training/review, usually depends on what the group wants to do with their time and the weather. There is a goodie give-a-way as well and group people/vehicle photo and a shorter Sunday ride takes place mid-morning to mid-afternoon, but the schedule can change slightly each year, so refer to more details and particulars for the event at the web link posted above and ask any questions of Marshal Grant on the Facebook page of give Blue Ridge Expeditions a call for more event details. There are usually kids of all ages, as well as adults of all ages for this weekend event. Typically the event is 15-20 trucks.
