Default the durability of alternative finishes?

I have read many threads about bedliner type products, used on body and trim areas. I am contemplating covering one of my work wagons, completely. It seems to be that the threads are abandoned without much said about the lasting performance of the finishes. Hoping some of you would not mind giving some feedback on longevity and durability. I know, I saw, at least, one thread with it applied to a roof of a disco and many fender flares. any testimonials, good or bad, to the durability are appreciated.

Being a member of the Beluga Black tribe, I have interest in something for the faded roof. I figue a big black out decal will handle most of the hood.

i recall a thread that had pics of a roof covered in liner. It did not look bad, at all. hopefully, that person will lend some first hand knowledge, if they are still around. I also saw some good looking pics of rocker panels done on another forum. looked good, but still no input on performance.
