I was told over the phone that in order to have the headliner replaced/repaired I would need to have one or the sunroofs removed first. And everything would cost me around $500.

I have a 1997 Disco SE with 2 sunroofs.

Is this correct? If so, it might deter me from trying to do it myself.

 

Only if they are repairing the sun roof.The headliner comes off without needing to remove the sun roof.
