I stumbled across another option for people with blown speakers in the rear door. These are sws 6.5 woofer. They drop right in with no issues. Since they are a shallow woofer no trimming on the door is needed. The stock amp should have no issues powering them. They sound amazing. I didn't know a speaker so small could hit low frequencies so cleanly. I may replace the front door woofers with them. I got them off of amazon but they seem to be available through many vendors.

ughhghghg $120 for two is wayy to rich for my blood at the moment. i might pick up a pair of these eventually...

 

I just checked these out and the 6.5" woofers are $65. The 8" woofers come up at $120. You may have had the wrong set selected. Just an FYI.

I do like the price of those Pyles, but I've never heard anything good from that brand.

 

well, $120 for two of em. and yea, pyle is cheap. but i've also never heard anything good about em. i might try and snag something from parts express eventually.

 

65$ is for the pair. They only sell them as pairs. I picked them because of their power ratings. The are designed for vehicles with factory amps. Anything asking for 600 watts will be too much for the stock amp to deal with and could end with either damage of the amp or distortion from not having the juice to control the voice coil of the speaker accurately.

 

damn, didn't notice. and of course now they're 100 a pair.

oh well.

 

I'm probably going to pick up a couple of these for my daily driver. I'm not a huge audiophile guy so I don't need a $1000 system. The stock system was fine for me when it worked so I just need something equivalent.
