Best in dash system under $1000?

I have a 2002 DSII and am wondering what kind of indash cd/dvd would be good for under $1000? Any one have one thet really like, or one that they have already installed they would like to post pics of?

Done some research and really want a harddrive in it so I dont have to use DVD based navigation.

a pioneer AVIC-D3 in dash unit might be what you are looking for my brother put one in his mazda and loves it. it looks like the best bang for your buck. i dont know if it has a hard drive.
im looking at droping one into my lr3
