CB Antenna Install.....
Well, I finally routed the cable thought and up the rack. Mounted the stud and antenna, with a folddown. The folddown is tough to get it at 90 deg, but it does with a little muscle. Just need to finish up the ground, tie straping and routing to where the CB will be mounted.....which I need to figure out before routing the power to it.....

Nice Rack!
The roof rack that is
While I know that the higher the antenna the better the signal and reception, I'm going to aim for a lower install. Here in Florida it can get pretty dense, so it's going to be a front bumper mount for my Rover.
BUT - I have that same quick fold mount on the wife's Expedition - and it works great. Yes it does take some muscle to tilt it and flip it back up, but it handles the interstate speeds just fine. We use it mostly for HF while traveling the wide open spaces of the Parkway and interstates in Western NC. Works great!
